How to Post a Poll to Your Facebook Page

In this tutorial, we explain how to create a poll and publish it on a Facebook page you manage. The whole process only takes a few minutes. Take a look at the video above for the step-by-step tutorial.

First, it is important to understand the difference between a Facebook Page and a personal account. The Page represents a business, community or public figure that interacts with an audience of followers. A personal account is used by you, as an individual. It is your login to get into Facebook.

To create a poll on Facebook, log in to your Facebook personal account and go to the Polls for Pages app. Then follow the steps to create your questions and configure the layout options.

When you reach the last step (Publish), click the “Add to a Facebook Page” button and select your Page from the dropdown list of Pages you manage. You can customize the tab name by changing it to something more specific. Click the green "Add to your Page" button. The app will redirect you to your Facebook Page where you will see the poll successfully installed in a tab.

To share the poll with your fans, post the poll URL in a new status update on your Page Timeline. Don't forget to tell your fans what the poll is about and why their opinion matters. See the best practices article and the promoted post article for advice on how to maximize your post reach.

If you manage a Page with colleagues, an Enterprise subscription will allow you to connect up to 10 admins to the account.
